Atonement Lutheran Congregation Expands Facility

Posted: Updated:

After years of planning, the Atonement Lutheran Congregation expands their facility in the Billings Heights.

Members of the congregation gathered at the new facility for a dedication service this afternoon. Church members say they outgrew the old facility at Wicks and Lake Elmo. They say this facility will meet the needs of the growing congregation and community.

"This is really the point we wanted to get to after some really good ideas came about, about twenty years ago," said Craig Canfield.

"It's a very exciting time for us as we start a new phase in our growth. It's a time that we hope we can add new ministries and be a part of this growing community up here in the upper part of the Heights," said Vivian Beals.

Both Canfield and Beals say the Atonement Lutheran Congregation started in 1963, and the new facility has been 20 years in the making.
