Daycare Shut Down for Ongoing Investigation

BILLINGS -

The Department of Public Health and Human Services confirms a daycare was shut down after serving a warrant Thursday night with Billings Police.

John Ebelt with DPHHS says the daycare's license is terminated for an ongoing criminal investigation with Billings Police. Ebelt says the last time the daycare on the 1200 block St. John's Avenue was inspected was in April 2011 and there were no problems. He says the department inspects 20 percent of daycares every year.

DPHHS also investigated a complaint for the daycare in January 2010. The report indicates Child Care Licensing found a child at the day care changing diapers and carrying infants.
