New Boat Access In Laurel

BILLINGS -

A new boat access is one step closer to being completed on the Yellowstone River in Laurel.

Back in 2011, a major flood destroyed the boat access that was there at the time. Workers on Friday poured concrete and are getting much closer to finishing the project.

"When they get that done then, that's really going to be the only boat ramp between Duck Creek and Buffalo Mirage at Park City. And that's one of the reasons we were in a hurry to get that back in," said Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Public Information Officer, Bob Gibson.

Gibson says the project was funded by Montana FWP and by FEMA.
