BILLINGS -

The Big Sky Honor Flight brings thousands of veterans to the World War II memorial built in their honor in Washington, D.C. a couple times a year.

But have you ever wondered about the organizers who put the plans into action?

The First Christian Church congregation thanked the Honor Flight committee for their service today with a benefit.

Members were honored with a special video and plaque.

First Christian Co-Pastor, Jeremy Emerling, said the goal is to honor and encourage the people who served the veterans.

To see servants be thanked is really important, and you could see that those on the committee felt validated. They were honored by the gratitude that they were showing," said Emerling.

Members of the community including County Commissioner, Bill Kennedy, even came out to show their support.
