MSUB Awarded Grant

BILLINGS -

Montana State University Billings will get a $1.2 Million grant from the National Science Foundation.

It's for scholarships for incoming college juniors and seniors to teach math, and science in high need areas throughout Montana after they graduate.

MSUB professor Ken Miller said the one-year scholarship is for $17,000, and the 2-year scholarship is for $34,000.

Miller also said 12 undergraduate scholarships, and 6 graduate scholarships are available.

"But understand how to teach to a learner that might not like science or might not like math, and help them to really enjoy it. I think we can really make a big difference," said Miller.

Miller said he's looking for math, or science students who want to be teachers with a high grade point average.

The deadline to apply is January 15th, and you can click on Connections to find out how to apply.
