Fundraisers for Clean Water

A Billings photographer is using her skills to raise money to provide clean water for children in Africa.

Photographer Tracy Moore and husband Matt Thompson will travel to Tanzania to help build wells in rural communities. Only 40% of Tanzanian people have access to clean water. Thompson and Hot 101.9 Radio Host Justin "McLovin" Hutchinson will camp out at Brew Pub for 48 hours with nothing to drink to gain awareness for the cause.

"I think it's just a good way to raise awareness for the event and raise awareness for the fact that they don't have clean drinking water," says McLovin.

The first fundraiser is Parched on the Patio. Thompson and McLovin will go without water from Friday to Saturday until they raise $5,000 for the project.

The other fundraiser is Portraits for a Cause. Moore will take pictures at the Billings Depot, Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM for $45. Half of the proceeds will go for clean water in Africa, the other half will go to help Billings families to provide gifts for children from families in need during the holidays.
