Halloween Festivities

Posted: Updated:

There are plenty of reasons you may not be able to celebrate Halloween since it's on a Thursday night, but here in Billings, there are plenty of options.

"It's fun for the season, everybody loves Halloween, loves that little scare," says Sarah Berndt of the Boys and Girls Club. The club is hosting it's 2nd Annual Haunted House, themed Twisted Fairytales. "It's fun to be scared and this is our opportunity to kind of share that and let the community know that we like to have fun and we're all about helping out any way we can."

And the zoo is doing something new this year, opening it's doors at night for Fright Night.

"From personal experience, this zoo is a creepy place to be at night. When you start added people jumping out of the bushes at you, and scary music, and fog, and everything else, it's going to be one of the best haunted houses in the area," says ZooMontana Executive Director, Jeff Ewelt.

But if you're not into the scare, and just in it for the fun, the Annual Boo at the Zoo is the place to be the weekend before Halloween.

"It's an opportunity for kids to come in, do some trick or treating in the safest environment their is," says Ewelt.

The Downtown Trick or Treat is another safe event. You can bounce from business to business loading up on candy hours before the ghosts and goblins come out.

"All of the businesses just get so excited about having those kids come through their shops and you know, it's gives the parents a time to kind of get out and do something fun too. Maybe do a little shopping along the way and kids get to see each other's costumes," says Natasha Potratz.
