Lunch and Learn Series

BILLINGS -

Employees from ExxonMobil inspired fifth and sixth graders at Bench Elementary for a Lunch and Learn series.

Once a month, a different employee will talk to the students about their job and students can ask them questions. The purpose of program is to provide an opportunity for students to learn about STEM careers, that is careers in science, technology, engineering, and math.

"You get an exposure to all different types of careers and opportunities that lets them know more about than what they're reading in a book and seeing in real life, practical use, and plan so that when they're making career decisions they can think about those opportunities," said Jill Quade, ExxonMobil human resources.

"In order to make a relevance of what you're learning in the classroom, it's best that we can connect it to a career," said Sandie Mammenga, Bench Elementary principal. "And with ExxonMobil we can connect that to math and science careers that are very important in our STEM program."

This is the second year for the Lunch and Learn series. ExxonMobil employees say it's important to inspire a passion for science and math in youth.
