While angry protestors tore down barriers in our nation's capitol, peaceful protestors held signs at the entrances of Yellowstone National Park.

Nearly 120 Cody residents gathered at the east entrance for an hour this afternoon to protest the government shutdown.

Protestors say they are sending a petition to reopen the park to Wyoming Senator Mike Enzi.

Cody business owners say they have been directly affected by the shutdown. They say restaurant, hotel, and store employees have been laid off for the season.

Protest organizers say a similar event took place near the entrance in Gardiner, with about 25 people protesting near that gate.
