Veterans Leave to Visit Memorial

BILLINGS -

Nearly 80 Montana World War Two veterans flew to Washington, D.C. Sunday morning to visit the memorial built in their honor.

After departing Billings Logan International Airport, vets were welcomed into our nation's capitol with water canons and a band at Dulles International Airport.

Sunday, veterans traveled to the Lincoln, Vietnam, and Korean War Memorials. Despite the government shutdown, veterans will visit the World War Two Memorial Monday, thanks to a special permit.

According to Honor Flight organizers, the spring flights are still under-funded.
