Lockwood Power May Be Interrupted

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS -

If you live in Lockwood and your power goes out on Sunday, don't panic.

Starting at 6 AM, Northwestern Energy needs to do routine maintenance on a transmission station. That line feeds Yellowstone Valley Electric Cooperative, which services Lockwood.

The power interruption could last 12 hours. The transformer is at Johnson Lane and Old Hardin Road.

A rough representation of the area affected north to the Yellowstone River includes east into the Pine Hills area, west to the Lockwood exit, and south of the work being done.

15,000 customers could be affected. The company wants to try to keep the power on to some businesses by using another line, but the company is not sure if that is going to work at this time.
