Yellowstone National Park Protest

BILLINGS -

The government shutdown continued into a second week and it prompted a protest at Yellowstone National Park.

Two Cody residents organized the event after having to disappoint their kids about returning to the park before the season's end. They turned their frustration to social media, and started a Facebook page organizing the peaceful and family friendly rally.

"This isn't going to be a political rally about Republicans or Democrats or Independents. But it's more about the lack of common sense and accountability that we find in Washington, D.C. Our ultimate goal is to tell our elected officials to do their job," says Rick Satterthwaite, Co-organizer of the rally.

The rally to support Yellowstone National Park and protest the shutdown of the government is this Sunday at 3:00 PM. There will be protesters at both the East Entrance in Cody, and North Entrance in Gardiner.
