Self Defense Weekend

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS -

Billings Chi Tu Do is holding FAST defense classes this weekend. FAST stands for Fear Adrenal Stress Training. The classes on Saturday will cover basic hands-only defense techniques in the morning, and defense against people with knives and guns in the afternoon. Sunday's classes will focus on how and when to calmly, and lawfully, use a firearm in self defense. Instructors hope the classes will help people feel more confident in a growing community.

"There's been a lot of concern lately in this last year over safety, over personal safety and awareness of things going on in our community," says instructor Dennis Forleo. "And so this is just another one of those tools we're trying to put out there to help people gain the confidence, to gain the empowerment, to be able to protect themselves in all kinds of different situations."

One of the instructors will be a former Marine special forces fighter. The classes are open to anyone, but there is a maximum number of spots available for each.
