Flea Market Raises Money

BILLINGS -

The Boys and Girls Club hosted a flea market fundraiser this weekend.

Workers say the funds from table rentals go to the Boys and Girls Club special projects. The markets are held three times a year. Organizers say each event brings in nearly $4,000 for the club.

"The kids need a place to go and to be safe you know, so they don't have to be latchkey kids at home by themselves," said Kitty Sundheim, event organizer and Boys and Girls Club booster. "And when I first started this, there was only one club in Billings and now we have four."

"It's kind of like going into a museum where you can have all this stuff," said Bob Christie, a collectibles vendor. "It's just fun if you like old things and that kind of stuff."

Organizers say nearly 50 to 60 vendors were at the market. The event featured many trinkets and collectibles, from antique slot machines to pieces of jewelry. There were also toys for children.
