Relay For Life Planning Underway

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS -

The 2014 Relay For Life may be months away, but organizers are already planning for festivities.

A national representative from the American Cancer Society was in Billings to provide training for the committee this weekend. Organizers say they would like to examine new ways to get caregivers involved, and improve long-term planning to meet their goals.

"This is a huge event, and I was kind of surprised when I was asked to come here, because they're hugely successful with their fund raising. They have 169 teams, 800 survivors, and most relays would just be so thrilled to come anywhere near that," said Kathy Bingham, American Cancer Society Representative.

Kathy says the 2014 goal is to raise $625,000.
