First Open Market and Vendor Show

Posted: Updated:

Dozens of vendors sold everything from arts and crafts to food at the first Open Market and Vendor Show over the weekend.

The two-day show at the Holiday Inn Grand Montana allowed vendors to share what their products are all about. Some vendors were there to let people know they're already preparing for the holiday season.

"A lot of restaurants, in the wintertime, fall and winter is when they kind of slow down," said Donna Godwin, Red Rooster Cafe owner. "This is kind of the start of our really busy season which is awesome. So we look forward to the fall and the winter because we just do a lot of baking and stuff like that."

"We felt like it would be a good time in the fall because people are trying to gear up for Christmas and October and all the Halloween and all that stuff," said Jessica Gilbert, Holiday Inn Corporate Catering sales manager. "So hopefully there's lots of stuff to appeal to those kind of people."

Organizers say they are planning to host the show again next year and make it bigger and better for buyers.
