Health Hero Awarded to Health Specialist

BILLINGS -

Eat Right Montana and Action for Healthy Kids awards a member of Riverstone Health the Health Hero award.

Alyssa Auvinen led the creation of five work site wellness policies at Riverstone, promoting healthy choices and behaviors.

She also started the Healthy by Design Gardener's Market at Riverstone Health. The market gives residents an opportunity to buy locally grown fresh fruit and vegetables at affordable prices.

"This work is so important for me because I really think everyone should have some of those basic health and health care needs accessible to them," said Auvinen, prevention health specialist. "So, whether it's fruit or vegetables, or being able to access doctors or nurses, whatever. And then also having some infrastructure in place so that can happen."

The award acknowledges the efforts of those who promote healthy nutrition and physical activity.
