Ground Beef Recall

Posted: Updated:
MONTANA -

A California company is recalling 58,000 pounds of ground beef, some of which was shipped to a distribution center in Montana.

The meat comes from the Central Valley Meat Company and was intended for use by the national school lunch program. The Department of Agriculture says the ground beef may contain small pieces of plastic.

The agency performed an inspection after some customer complaints. So far there have been no reports of any illness or injuries from the meat. Anyone with concerns should contact the USDA at 202-720-2791.

None of the beef was distributed to any schools in Montana.
