No More Rural Post Office Closures

BILLINGS -

No more small or rural post offices will close in Montana or anywhere else for now.

That's the word from Senator Jon Tester. Tester says he got the head of the postal service to agree not to close any more locations while congress works to reform the agency.

"So what you are saying is that there wouldn't be any post offices closed or mail processing centers while we're debating this bill before it becomes law?" said Tester.

The senator sponsored the Postal Service Protection Act, which would help get the mail agency on solid financial ground without adding delays to rural mail delivery.
