Memorial Bull Ride in Acton

ACTON, Mont. -

Elite Professional Bull Riding is holding an event to remember a fellow bull rider who passed away this summer.

Sunday marked the first memorial bull ride memorial for Mike Lenning. Organizers say bulls were taken to the Acton Cow Bar and Steakhouse arena for the event.

"He had a passion for it," said Jeff Marn, who is the announcer for the event. "He was a judge, a member of the Northern Rodeo Association, Elite Professional Bull Riding, and the PRCA for a lot of years. Great cowboy and a great somebody to look up to."

The event kicked off at 4 PM and featured 30 bull rides. Organizers say the bulls they are riding have been featured in the professional bull riders group.

Supporters say they hope to continue with the event in the future and make it bigger and better.

Doctor Scott Bea says a fear of clowns is most likely due to the elusive nature of their appearance. Because clowns wear makeup and conceal their identity -- they can create uncertainty. He says it's similar to when children are terrified by mascots or characters with masks. Clowns used to be whimsical characters folks associated with the circus -- but over time -- depictions of clowns in movies and on television have associated them with more sinister things.
