Fun Run Draws Crowd

RED LODGE -

More than 1,000 community members came out to support Red Lodge area non-profits at the annual Fun Run for Charities.

The event benefits 54 charities that help youth, animals, the environment, and much more. The Red Lodge Area Community Foundation puts on this event to help non-profits put projects into action.

"We get to know each other to raise funds on this day, but throughout the year, we've built new partnerships, new friendships that we're able to work on projects throughout the year together," said Tracy Timmons, the event coordinator and RLACF's executive director. "So it really rounds out the voices that are solving problems in our community."

Non-profits say the funding helps them focus more on helping others.

"It has just been such a significant and immeasurably important program and fundraising source for us that we can do more good work in the community because of the Red Lodge Area Community Foundation and the Fun Run," said Diane Zook, Beartooth Humane Alliance's president.

Organizers say this year's event was record breaking, and they hope to raise $250,000.
