BILLINGS -

A former Billings mattress delivery man is in custody after being charged in connection to the series of recent sexual assaults.

On Monday, the state attorney said the man even dropped off a bed to one of the victims some time before he raped her. "I am pleased to report that after tireless and tenacious investigation, we have arrested 41-year-old Toby Eugene Griego," Billings Police Chief Rich St. John said.

Chief St. John said Toby Griego was caught at his home on South 30th Street without incident Friday morning. He was arrested in connection to two of the six sexual assaults against women that occurred on May 27th and July 2nd. In all reports, women were typically blond, between 18 and 30 years old, and all awoke to the male perpetrator in their bedroom. "We have not ruled out the possibility there may be another suspect, but Griego is in the forefront," Chief St. John said.

Chief St. John reported the Billings Police Department first learned of Griego on July 15th. "Shortly after receiving the Crimestoppers tip, Detectives embarked on several surveillance details, and through observation and collection of evidence we were able to get a search warrant for Griego's house, shop, vehicle and phone," St. John said.

After the tip, the Billings Police learned Toby Griego was a registered sex offender, and he had been convicted with the similar crimes in New Mexico in 1998. Court Documents said they were able to retrieve photos from Griego's mobile phone of victims and other women.

Right now, Billings Police said they are still investigating the remaining sexual assaults and searching for a second perpetrator. Forty-one year-old Toby Griego appearing in Justice Court Monday afternoon where he was charged with 26 felonies and three misdemeanors that varied from rape, drug, possesion, recording the victims and robbery. Today, court documents revealed that after sexually assaulting the two victims, he dressed them, drove them to an ATM, and made them withdraw money.

Griego has been living in Billings since 2008.
