Fire officials said they expected the Rock Creek Fire to pick up in intensity Sunday due to the high temperatures and winds.

Crews said they were expecting to see more smoke on Sunday. At last word, the nearly 900-acre blaze has not gained any ground, and it's 25-percent contained. Fire officials said almost 550 structures are under threat, and 230 people are now fighting fire. Highway 212 is still open to all traffic, but it's with a 35-mile speed limit.

A public meeting is scheduled Monday at the Carbon County Fairgrounds at 6:00 PM to answer any questions about the fire.
