BILLINGS, Mont. -

A 56-year-old Billings man is in the hospital for crashing the pickup he was driving into a telephone pole.

According to Montana Highway Patrol Trooper, Jason Hoppert, the man was driving south on 72nd Street near the East Laurel Exit just after 1:10 PM. The driver then went off of the road, took out a telephone pole, ended up on Interstate 90, and then drove to the East Laurel Exit underpass.

Trooper Hoppert said the man was taken to Billings Clinic to be treated for a head injury. He was then charged with his second Driving Under the Influence offense. No other injuries to drivers or pedestrians were reported. Trooper Hoppert said the crash appeared to be intentional.
