Broadwater Elementary New Playground

BILLINGS -

After a long summer off, kids at Broadwater Elementary will have a nice surprise waiting for them in school.

Tearing down the 30-year-old playground began in May to make room for the new and improved state of the art playground. While parts of the playground are still being installed, Broadwater Principal Joe Halligan says the playground will be ready in time for the start of school.

"It means having a brand new, safe, play structure for our most precious little ones. We've got kindergarteners and first graders who use this structure almost exclusively," says Halligan. "But it's going to be safe, it's going to be up to code. And it's just going to be a place where a lot of different kids can do a lot of different things at the same time."

St. Vincent Healthcare donated $25,000 for the playground and is a community partner with Broadwater Elementary.
