Supplies Still Needed

BILLINGS -

The first day of school is just around the corner, but many students still need supplies.

Backpacks for Progress organizers at Park City Baptist Church have handed out nearly 120 backpacks. But, at least 60 more kids are still on a list to get supplies. Coordinator Julie Diskin said they've had tremendous support for the community, but this year's need is much greater.

"We even had people walking in yesterday saying, 'please can I, you know, I need three backpacks for this year. There's just no way we can get it,'" Diskin said. "Well, you know, it's not the kid's fault. How can I turn them down?"

Diskin said they have added an extra day to hand out backpacks to the remaining kids, which is next Saturday. If you would like to contribute, you can call her at 208-8906.
