Skateboarder Dies on West End

A 20-year-old skateboarder died Saturday after he was run over by the pickup that was pulling him.

According to police, the accident happened near the intersection of 54th Street West and Walter Hagen Drive on Billings West End around 2 PM.

Officers said one of the skateboarder's wheels came off causing him to fall, and one wheel of the pickup ran him over. He was later taken to Saint Vincent Healthcare where he was pronounced dead.

Officers said the 21-year-old driver of the black Toyota pickup did not appear to be drinking at the time. There is no word on whether tickets have been issued.
