BILLINGS -

All the different types of 4-H events at MontanaFair aim to involve kids in various activities and contests.

Friday, it was the 4-H Livestock Judging Contest, where kids are judged on their judging skills. It's a chance for them to learn the skills on what to look for in a livestock competition.

"It really kind of helps you out with what to look for and what to see. And you can ask older kids. Like the younger kids can come and ask me how or why I did this and that. And you can have the older kids teaching the younger kids so when they get older they know what to do and they can pass it down," says Holden Vandivort, who participated in the Livestock Judging Contest.

4-H kids learned what to look for when judging steer, sheep, pigs, and horses.
