BILLINGS -

A child psychiatrist who served time in prison for possessing child pornography officially asked the state for his medical license back.

According to officials from the Montana's Board of Medical Examiners, Dr. James Peak applied for an early reinstatement of his medical license in late July.

In August 2011, Peak pleaded guilty to one count of Possession of Child Pornography, and was sentenced to a year and a day in prison, as part of a plea agreement.

The board is set to hear the request on September 20th of this year.
