BILLINGS -

Officials with Billings Fire Department said a fire at a welding shop near Downtown Billings caused major damage Wednesday night.

Fire officials reportedly responded to a call to 1310 Montana Avenue at 9 p.m. Flames could be seen shooting out of the rooftop, and multiple fire trucks were also at the scene battling the blaze.

Officials say their investigation could not determine a cause for the fire, and that the fire caused an estimated $250,000 in damages. The owner of the shop told KULR-8 News Wednesday night he has recently invested over $10,000 in equipment for the shop.

The building in question is reportedly a total loss. No person was inside the building at the time, and no one was injured, according to Fire officials.
