West End Event Touts School Choice

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS -

A meeting in the Billings West End touts the benefits school choice could have for Montana parents.

The local Americas For Prosperity (AFP) chapter organized the "Celebrating Champions of School Choice" event Wednesday evening at Beartooth Harley Davidson, to celebrate economist Milton Friedman's birthday.

Organizers at the event said the late economist was a big supporter of allowing parents to choose where their kids should go to school.

Speaker Greg Gianforte, who is on the Friedman Foundation for Educational Choice board, said school choice will be beneficial for the Treasure State.

"School Choice will improve our public schools. It increases funding, per child, in those public schools, and it gives options to parents where the existing system doesn't fit their child, and we can do this here in Montana." said Gianforte.

Susanne Rodell faced a difficult situation. Hail storm damage to her roof led to an insurance claim being filed. Rodell picked a local contractor to fix her roof, but mother nature did not cooperate. While the roofing company was in the middle of fixing her roof, a weekend of rain caused water damage to dry wall and ceilings within the house.
