Chords for Kiddos

BILLINGS -

Local bands were rocking out at the Yellowstone Perk Venue for a good cause Sunday.

The 4th Annual Chords for Kiddos brought many musicians together for a benefit concert. After a local Billings musician passed away in 2009, his family created the John Gairrett Memorial Foundation. Organizers say the money goes toward instruments for children in need in the community, and furthering their music education.

"It was an idea of my family, after my dad passed away in 2009, to create something to sort of commemorate him and his legacy of music. He loved music and he loved kids and sharing music with people so, we decided to raise funds for kids, equip them with music instruments and lessons, and live music opportunities," said Becca Gairrett, daughter of John Gairrett.
