Concert to Benefit Head Start

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS -

The sequester has hit Head Start in Billings hard, they lost $161,000 in government funding this year. Plus the school already has to fund 25% of their operating budget.

School officials hope a concert this weekend will help them raise some of the money they need to continue helping families. Head Start Executive Director Kathy Kelker says, "It's a little tougher time these days for Head Start and there are more people are applying to have their children in the program so we've got to make up the difference to make sure that all the kids who need to get a head start get that head start."

The concert is Saturday, July 26th from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at The Rex. Beatles tribute band Imagine: Remembering the Fab Four is the group performing. Tickets at the door are $12 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6 to 12 and kids under 5 are free.
