Search Continues For Drowned Man

BILLINGS -

Search efforts continue for the body of a man who apparently drowned in a Carbon County lake.

Officials with Carbon County Search and Rescue said they responded to East Rosebud Lake Wednesday afternoon, where an out-of-state man in his mid-20s was visiting the area with his friends. Officials say the man tried to swim across a narrow part of the lake, and made it halfway before calling for help.

Friends said they rushed to rescue, but couldn't reach him before he disappeared underwater.

The man's name has not been released. A smaller search will continue Friday, while divers and specially-trained search dogs will return to East Rosebud Lake Saturday.
