BILLINGS -

A volunteer firefighter, who tragically lost his life after he hit a deer while on a motorcycle, was laid to rest Thursday.

Scott Stewart was a volunteer with the Blue Creek fire department and was given a funeral procession to the Smith Funeral chapel.

About two weeks ago, Stewart hit a deer and skidded 100 feet down the road.

The Yellowstone County coroner said 51 year old Stewart died five days after his crash at Saint Vincent Healthcare due to blunt force trauma.
