Yellowstone County Sheriff's Deputies Contracts

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS -

Yellowstone County Sheriff's Deputies are currently working without contracts. According to County Commissioner Jim Reno the contracts expired on June 30th. Reno says negotiations with the sheriff's department have been cordial. Among the items deputies are asking for are comp time and a physical fitness incentive.

Reno says the department is requesting binding arbitration instead of mediation should a problem occur. Reno says he expects to see a 4% wage increase for deputies.

No date has been set to meet a compromise.
