Fire Burns at Emigrant Peak

BILLINGS, Mont. -

A fire burning south of Livingston has scorched nearly 100 acres, according to the Bozeman Fire Department.

Officials said the blaze is burning on the south side of Emigrant Peak in Park County. No homes, structures, or private land are in immediate danger. Fire officials believe the Emigrant Fire was sparked by lightning sometime in the previous week. The Gallatin National Forest has a crew on the blaze and more are expected by Monday. Fire officials said they do not expect to reach populated areas.
