Dolores County Sheriff Reaction

BILLINGS -

The Dolores County sheriff reacted following the crash of a Billings Flying Service helicopter near Dove Creek, Colo.

Tuesday's crash took the life of AJ Blain, a pilot in the family-owned business. The Flying Service was doing seismic exploration work for an energy company. Sheriff Jerry Martin says he's seen the pilots in action for years.

"I think they flew every day for two and half months these pilots are top notch pilots. I mean, they're just excellent pilots, so I have a hard time believing it was a pilot error, but like I said it'll be determined when they do their investigation."

The sheriff offers his condolences to the family. The investigation into the crash continues.
