Help In Missing Woman Case

BILLINGS -

Richland County Sheriff's Office is asking for help from state law enforcement officials in their investigation of a missing Sidney woman.

According to a statement from the Richland County Sheriff's Office, Lana Swensrud, 55, was reported missing by her family on Monday. She was last seen the Saturday before, about 15 miles southeast of Sidney.

On Tuesday, law enforcement in the area did locate a body near where Swensrud was last seen, but they say further investigation is needed before they can positively identify the body as that of Swensrud's.

Sidney has seen high-profile missing person cases before. In 2012, teacher Sherry Arnold was kidnapped and murdered while jogging in town.
