3-Year Tornado Anniversary

BILLINGS -

It's been three years since a tornado crushed MetraPark and portions of the Rimrock Auto Arena.

The tornado tore the roof off of MetraPark, causing extensive damage to the arena. Now the complex is completely rebuilt, and according to MetraPark General Manager Bill Dutcher, staff are fully prepared in the event another tornado touches down.

"Everybody's heads in the game and there's a lot more chance I think now for staffs to work with their patrons for safety. And everybody's a lot more versed to take care of those issues as they arrive," says Dutcher.

Dutcher says the exhibit hall on the lower level of MetraPark by the southwest doors survived the first tornado, and that's the arena's new tornado shelter.
