June Gold Star Award

BILLINGS -

The June Gold Star Teacher Award goes to a music teacher at Canyon Creek Elementary School.

KULR-8 presents Kalli Murphy with a $250 check, a plaque, and a gift basket from EBMS. Murphy says she loves teaching music because she enjoys watching her students grow as musicians from kindergarten to 8th grade.

"I think just watching them on a day to day basis and seeing how much they enjoy making music in my room all together whether its singing or playing instruments or creating, improvising, whatever it is just seeing their enjoyment and as they do that together with their classmates," says Murphy.

Murphy says she wants to use the check to expand the variety of instruments in the classroom. She would like to purchase larger xylophones and metaphones.
