New Non-Emergency Number

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS -

Drivers on Montana highways have a new number to call for non-emergencies.

Montana Highway Patrol officials say they made the decision to change phone service carriers after monthly charges increased. Monthly charges with the new carrier are estimated to save more than $81,000.

The new number to call is 1-855-647-3777. Examples of non-emergencies include stranded drivers, hazardous road conditions, debris on the highway, suspicious activity at a rest area, and intoxicated or dangerous drivers.

When calling the number, drivers should have their information and location available. For emergencies, drivers should still call 911.
