SD2 Lot Sale Switches Seasons

Posted: Updated:

One's man's trash is another man's treasure, and School District Two is doing some summer cleaning.

The school district invited the Billings community to bid for old or obsolete items at their warehouse on Industrial Avenue. Traditionally, the auction is held at MetraPark in the middle of winter, but according to School District Two Facilities Executive Director Lew Anderson, SD2 will now be hosting the lot sale during the summer, where all money generated from the sale goes back into the school district.

"It goes back to general fund. It might help in replacement of a carpet in a classroom it might go towards buying some books for the kids, but it goes back into the general fund," says Anderson.

The school lot sale generally nets out at around $17,000 per year.
