Community Supports Early Farmers Market

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS -

Several people in the community came out for an early season farmers market Saturday.

Good Earth Market held their second early season farmers market June 8. Products sold by local vendors included produce, organic salsa, and bison meat. Organizer Andi Buckley said it's a great way for the community to buy produce before the Yellowstone Valley Farmers Market begins in July.

"It's really important for the community to know what local products are there, and that's what our mission is: to get people to know that we are here to give you that local product. And with the events, such as our early season farmer's market, we're giving you that first-hand step into getting local products," Buckley said.

The early farmers market is held every Saturday in June from 8:00-11:00 AM in the Good Earth Market parking lot.

If you are interested in selling your products, you can contact Good Earth Market at 406-259-2622.

Streets that run for several blocks, without a single street light. It is a dark reality many residents throughout the Magic City face when the sun goes down. Leo Robinson lives on Monad Rd., east of 24th Street. He said if street lights were placed on Monad, safety for everyone would improve. Terry Smith, City Traffic Engineer, said the city is more than willing to work with anyone, on any street, which lacks street lights.
