Cabela's Encourages Outdoor Adventures

Local families took advantage of Cabela's Outdoor Adventure Day on Saturday.

Organizers say the event is an opportunity for families to enjoy the outdoors, and learn what tools they can use for recreation. Some of the activities included shooting at a BB Gun range, youth archery, and a live taxidermy demonstration.

"The overall goal is expose youth and families to the outdoors so they appreciate hunting, fishing, and camping. And here at Cabela's, we not only like to sell the products, we like to train people on how to use them and how to appreciate the outdoors," said Cody Cass, Retail Marketing Manager at Cabela's.

Organizers at Cabela's say many of these activities are offered throughout the year, but offering everything on one day is unique and convenient for customers.

Can you imagine building a hotel by stacking one floor on top of another? That’s what’s happening in Yellowstone. The Park’s lodging concessionaire, Xanterra, tore out hundreds of old cabins in Canyon Village, and started construction this summer on five new lodges to replace them. The new lodges are actually modular jigsaw puzzles.
