BILLINGS -

An NFL Player who once called Columbus home, is back in Big Sky Country. Dwan Edwards graduated from Columbus High and now plays for the Carolina panthers. Friday, he visited the Billings Public Library for story time.

"I think every opportunity to come talk to them, sign autographs, shake their hand, really lifts them up and makes me feel good as well. So, it's a win win for both of us," says Edwards.

Edwards is a 6'3", more than 300lb defensive tackle in the NFL, and a family man.

"He's just been so gracious to come here and do story time with us and to just share his love of literacy but also his love of kids," says Cindy Patterson, Children's Librarian at Billings Public Library.

Edwards makes it a point to come back to Big Sky Country every summer. He holds a football camp for Montana kids, and enjoys opportunities like this to remind kids about what he believes, is important in life.

Edwards says "the moral of the first story was kind of just to follow your dreams and work hard and I was definItely kind of a prime example of that."

"I think the one thing he does is let kids know they can be anything they want to be," says Patterson.

"It's really neat to see a Montana person come back and share with the kids in the community," says Jeffrey Kay who lives in Billings and brought his kids to story time.

Now, living as a North Carolinian, Edwards' trips back home allow him to reminisce on his past, and brings him back to his roots.

"I'm blessed to be in a position to be a role model to these kids. And give them some good advice and some good words of wisdom," says Edwards. "Definitely lets me know how far I've come in my life and definitely stay grounded to where I'm from."

Edwards will hold his Elite Football Camp on June 29th at Daylis Stadium. It's free and is limited to amount 250 5th through 8th graders.
