Pub Crawl and BBQ for Big Sky Honor Flight

Posted: Updated:

With more Big Sky Honor Flights on the horizon, several Billings groups want to do their part to help send these veterans to Washington DC.

The Billings Caledonian Pipes and Drummers organized a pub crawl this Saturday. The 35 to 40 member group had one earlier this year on St. Patrick's Day. The money that would have usually gone to their group for equipment, uniforms, and supplies will go to the Big Sky Honor Flight.

"Our World War Two veterans are an extremely important part of today's society," band manager and drum sergeant Allan Anderson says. "And we want to go and pay our tributes to them and we want to help them. And it'd be great to have everybody come on out, enjoy some bagpipes and some drums, and support our veterans while we're at it."

The band will start at Fat Jack's Tap Room in Laurel at 4:30 p.m. and will hit places like Bones Brewing, The Winner's Circle, Hudson's and Cactus Creek Steak Outfitters. You can see the times up on your screen.

And if you're looking for some food this weekend, Lithia Dodge is hosting a barbecue.

Marines from the Eugene Sara detachment of the Marine Corps League will be cooking up the food with a grill provided by the Billings Police Department.

Walmart and Sysco will donate all the food with soda from Pepsi. Five dollars will get you a burger or hot dog plus chips and a drink.

All money raised by the event will go towards funding a future flight for the Big Sky Honor Flight. The barbecue starts Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. and ends at 2:30 PM.
