Out and About For Memorial Day

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS -

It wasn't a picture perfect day of weather for the Magic City. But avid golfers were still eager to get on the green and get in some golf at Par-3 in the Billings West End for the Memorial Day holiday.

Robb Vann decided to hit the driving range with his daughter Nadine, so she could practice her own swing and skills and they were pretty undeterred by the thunderstorms of the day.

"We stayed inside and waited for the storm to go over. We were planning on coming out and hitting balls earlier, but then we decided to wait it out and we did and it's a beautiful day now," said Vann.

Meanwhile down the road at Terry Park, kids were enjoying a day off from school, having plenty of fun just being kids.

"My favorite thing about being here today is that I get to play," said Isaiah Lande, a second grader at Broadwater Elementary.

"I'm a full time working parent so it is nice to have a day off to spend time with them. And for them to have a day off from school  so that we can come and play and spend time together. Parks are always the hit with little people," said Amy Lorash, who is a parent of two children who were enjoying their time at the park playground.

So whether people were out and about working on their golf swing or just having good time on the tire swing in the park, it seems many people got a chance to enjoy the outdoors on Memorial Day.
