Devoted Employee Turns 70

LAUREL -

For some, birthdays are just another day on the calendar. But for the Laurel McDonald's staff, one employee's birthday is an occasion to really throw a party.

The Laurel McDonald's lobby lady Patricia Carpenter, known to some as "Mrs. Ronald McDonald," celebrated her 70th birthday today. Employees and customers surprised Carpenter with a birthday party this morning and recognized her special day with cake, presents, and decorations.

"She is just the greatest lady," Area Supervisor of Laurel McDonald Celeste Wagner said. "People will come up to her in Walmart, when she's not even at this restaurant, and give her a big hug, especially little children."

"I just can't comprehend that all these people are doing this for me. And I thank you all from the bottom of my heart," Carpenter said.

Carpenter said she plans to work at McDonald's for another 20 years and invites everyone to help her celebrate her 90th birthday.
