BILLINGS -

Doctors at Billings Clinic hope a new residency program will help bring more internal medicine physicians to Montana.

Hospital administrators say the accreditation council for graduate medical education is giving its internal medicine residency program a three-year accreditation.

Doctors at the clinic are optimistic the program will provide opportunities to train more internists, and keep them in the treasure state.

"We're just all very excited. As an institution, as a department, and really hope this will help the community," said Dr. Steven Gerstener; Billings Clinic

Billings Clinic applied for the accreditation last fall.
